English 120C: Topics in Composition: Multimedia Writing

This section of Topics in Composition will focus on Multimedia Writing, and in the course we will consider how different media can be used together to create powerful arguments and compelling stories. We will also practice basic skills in interface and narrative design including typography, layout, color, imagery, and media integration. Using readily available tools, we will read and discuss the theoretical implications of working with multimedia and produce our own multimedia texts. At the end of this class, you will have a portfolio of multimedia writing samples.

Major Course Assignment

Research Project: You will research the topic of your choice related to multimedia writing and present your work in a multimedia format that you choose and design. This project will be broken into smaller steps including a proposal, annotated bibliography, multiple drafts of the research project, and a class presentation.
