After the Glow: Radium Girls (8.2)

By Kasey Julian – Oakland University

Text-based Description of Visuals

This project explores the women who worked in the dial factories in Flint, MI during WWI, the hazardous environments in which they worked, and the long-term consequences of this work. Following a historical overview and commentary, this project connects the experiences of the Radium Girls with those of people affected by the Flint Water Crisis, to ask the question, what, if anything, has changed in terms of how corporations perceive of and treat the people they employ and serve?
